I liked the dinosaur kingdom. I took my kids there and we had a blast. The instructions in the tour were detailed to point us in the right direction each time. Highly recommend this place.
My family loved this place. It is very creative and has a fun storyline. It was a nice break from the actual historical stops. Be sure to take lots of silly pictures. My kids are still talking about Dinosaur Kingdom II days later.
I first found out about Dinosaur Kingdom from a friend of mine who showed me the website. A park full of dinosaurs fighting Confederate soldiers piqued my interest, so I decided to tag along with him when he decided to go one weekend. I thought I knew what I was getting into, but the moment we pulled into the parking lot I realized how wrong I was. While there was a soldier fighting a T. Rex on top of a train car, there was somehow something even MORE bizarre: a strange, blue tick-like creature that look liked something out of James and the Giant Peach. It was so unexpected and out of place that my friend and I were stuck in our car for a full minute because we were laughing so hard. By the time we got to the ticket booth we were absolutely ecstatic about seeing the park and it did not disappoint. The park doubles down on the absurdity of its premise by having an actual narrative trying to explain the whole thing. You absolutely need to bring a camera so you can take pictures of some of the amazing statues in this park. I would describe some of them, but they were so great that I don't want to spoil it. After we exited the park, we saw Mark Cline - the artist who owns the park and made all the statues - and got to speak with him. We asked him about some of the statues and how he made them. He was a really genuine guy and I could tell how passionate he was about the park and his work. This is easily the most entertainment I've ever gotten out of $10. If you're anywhere near Natural Bridge, this is a must-see.
Super interesting place. It was a pleasure to get a tour with Mark himself.
I feel bad for people who don’t “get” this kind of attraction. It’s a bizarre labor of love, a throw back to the classic attractions of the 1950s and something that brings me joy because it exists. It’s an easy stop off I81, the young woman running the ticket booth was super nice and I spent an hour walking around with a smile.
